Google to implement faster scrolling standard on Chrome browser

The Google Chrome browser will reportedly receive support for Pointer Events, which will allow both mouse and touch scrolling at the same time. This will drastically improve the scrolling experience on Chrome browser on desktops and has already been used on Opera and Firefox browsers.
We saw Pointer Events being implemented on Internet Explorer first, but it's good to know that Google is making use of this in the Chrome browser as well after it received positive reviews from the public.
Google mentions that Pointer Events will work in tandem with Touch Events and it probably won't impact the performance. The support will be added to the system through a future update, so customers don't have to worry about downloading separate software to get this feature.
The addition of Pointer Events will go unnoticed by most users as it will only impact users who make use of the browsers on touch devices.
It has to be noted that Google will not immediately bake in support for this. It will be tested in stages and only then added to the beta builds of Chrome on desktops. After this, it could take anywhere between a month or even more to make its way to the stable version of Chrome.
Touch Events is a standard Google primarily focused on prior to this and is also used in Apple's Safari browser. So it's good to see that the company is making the transition to Pointer Events after a relatively long wait. [ India Today]
